Pet Vaccinations Benefit Animals and Humans Alike

Pet vaccinations help reduce the spread of diseases, including those that affect both animals and humans such as rabies, Lyme disease, and leptospirosis. That’s why The Animalife Veterinary Center at Mission Hills strongly advocates for routinely vaccinating your pets.

Lifestyle Vaccines

In addition to our essential vaccines, we also offer vaccines that protect pets from lifestyle-based risks. These include:

Dogs

  • Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • Lyme
  • Leptospirosis

Cats

  • Feline leukemia

An evaluation of your pet’s health, age, size, environment, and travel frequency will tell us which lifestyle vaccines they will need. To learn more about these vaccines and what they protect against, call (239) 435-1222.

Your Pet’s First Vaccinations

Our goal is to start vaccinating pets when they are about 8 weeks old. Their immune systems are not fully developed at this time and benefit from the “boost” that vaccines provide. Puppies and kittens often receive a series of distemper boosters several weeks apart until they are about 16 weeks old, but this may vary. Request an appointment with us so you can figure out your pet’s vaccination schedule!
